KTV = Karaoke

I went to a karaoke store in Tempe with my Taiwanese friend. Karaoke is called KTV in Chinese. Actually, I can't sing any English song, so I sang some Japanese song and only famous part of pop-music. We went to Taiwanese restaurant after that. Traditional Taiwanese food was fairy delicious.


At night, it was sand storm.

Sukiyaki and crabs for birthday party

There was my Thai friend's birthday party. We prepared dinner with Crabs and Sukiyaki. I think we cooked very well.

Avina Salad / World War Z

Lunch was at Pho Avina again, and I ate a fried rice and Avina Salad. The salad was quite big. Not only salad but also meat, shrimp, and noodle are inside. I actually like it.

I went to Asiana Market and bought kimpap and japche.

For dinner, I went Bankok BBQ.

I went watching World War Z. It was very interesting and exciting.

Five Guys

I had lunch at Five Guys. I ate peanuts a lot because it's free.

Dinner was at Pho Avina with Korean and Taiwanese friends.

Overcoming Failed Markets, Crony Capitalism

I was doing homework at the library.

I had quick dinner at Smash Burger -Chicken Mushroom burger was so good!-

At night, I attended a special lecture event "Overcoming Failed Markets, Crony Capitalism and the Enrichment of the Few" The professor who spoke in this lecture had several different kind of experience of China. He is very familiar with China and its culture, business, and people. It was interesting.

Fresh Wasabi / Hula's modern tiki

I studied at the library for a while. I went to have lunch at Fresh Wasabi. It was...umm...so so.

In the afternoon, I studied in the tower.

Dinner was at Hula's Modern Tiki. It was Hawaiian restaurant. Food was good.

Las Vegas 2nd day

We ate blunch at Wicked Spooon in The Cosmopolitan. I also played at casino of the cosmopolitan and lost a bit in total...

I bought a famous popcorn for a souvenir at Garrett Popcorn Shops in Planet Hollywood.

We went to Caesar Palace for shopping. This was the first time for me. The area size of the buildings were so huge.

We left Las Vegas, and then stopped by Hoover Dam at evening.

 It was just a dam, but it was a beautiful view.

When we came back was at midnight.

Zion and Las Vegas

We walked around in Zion again. Where we walked along was river side for Narrows trail. The river was very nice. There were so many families. I met some squirrels again.

After having lunch, we moved to Las Vegas by (finally!) my driving. It was so busy in the city. It was full with cars. We ate Earl of Sandwichs.

After dinner, we wen to see a show of Zumanity. It was so funny and nice!! And then, we went to casinos. I luckily won a bit.

Actually, I hadn't been Las Vegas since nine years ago. I saw many changes in this city. So many intersection were deleted. New hotels and casinos were established in the middle of the main street such as the cosmopolitan and Aria. I felt the night view of Las Vegas still attracted many tourists.

Antelope and Zion

We wake up early and joined a short trip to Antelope Canyon. It was a very beautiful tour spot.

After that morning trip, we headed to Zion National Park. We hiked to Angels Landing. It was actually a tough trail.

I met a lot of squirrels.

The view from the top of Angels Landing was awesome!!

We got down to the grand and went to dinner at a restaurant near Zion. However, I got a sick, so I couldn't eat at all...

Horseshoe Bend

I went to Horseshoe Bend with Arizona friends including new Taiwanese students.

It was so beautiful and speechless. We stayed at a hotel in Page, and we at Bonkers Restaurant located near the hotel. It was actually good!

Long driving from CA to AZ

I drove from California to Arizona. I stopped by Ramen Jinya for lunch. This was the second time for me to come. taste of its ramen was not bad.

When I arrived in Arizona was about 7:00 pm. I ate chicken wings for dinner.

mLearnCon

I attended an event in San Jose. mLearnCon. I have never heard about it before I knew from my professor of Management class. I was able to know many e-learning companies in this conference.

I ate bento, a Japanese style lunch box, at Smile Sushi for lunch not good, not bad.

Austin 3

I visited to The University of Texas, Austin. It was a huge university. I looked around some buildings.

 I think this school is very good but it too humid to study, especially during summer term. That is totally opposite from school in the east coast such as Harvard, Boston University, or MIT.



Anyway, I drove to Hopdoddy Burger for lunch. Inside the restaurant was very clean and fashionable.

After thatn, I visited Texas State History Museum,


Also, I went to a waterfall, but it was dried up...so only a small lake was seen.

At last, I ate a BBQ of the Salt Lick for dinner at the ariport. It was very good!! I thought that BBQ sauce was the best in this year.

With full stomach, I got back.

San Marcos / Austin 2

I drove to San Marcos for tubing in the morning. It was managed by the Lions Club. Anyway, it was so fun!

I tried to eat at Salt Lick BBQ restaurant but I was noticed that it would take two hours to just get in the restaurant, so I gave up... Instead, I stopped by Rudy's Road BBQ for lunch. Actually, it was darn good!! Its coleslaw salad was the best in this year (for me).

Before sunset, I went to Mozzart cafe. The view of the lake was very beautiful.

After that, I went to Michi Ramen. Its interior was very Americanized but looked interesting.
