Teaching english about food

We, English teachers, taught about food and how to order at shop and restaurant. After students learn how to order what they want in English, all of us went to Lulu's Ice cream Parlor for getting burgers. It reminded me when I struggled from how to order food at restaurant first time.

A stuffed rabbit penalty

Teaching day has come back again. The Japanese students learned English with playing. They played the bean ball throwing with speaking English. Also, they leaned music in English. Actually, there is a rule that a stuffed rabbit is put on head of a student if the student speaks Japanese during class. It looked like a very cute penalty.

Thunder Valley Casino

I went to Thunder Valley Casino on this weekend. I first won a lot but I lost in the last hour...

Yosemite again

Even though I went to Yosemite last month, I had another chance to come there.

Where I visited with students were Tunnel View, Viledge Grill for lunch, and Mariposa Grove.

We ate dinner at Mariposa Happy Burger. What I ordered was Mother Lode burger. It was so huge. 

Yosemite orientation and short presentation

There was the Yosemite trip orientation. The teacher who has ever been to Yosemite National Park more than 60 times taught some view points and how to have fun there. Also, he explained that rocks in Yosemite are made of granite. We used sand, ice , and soap in order to know how Yosemite rocks made with glacier.

In the afternoon, students had paper-based presentation.

After every class was done, we discuss with a American teacher who came with students from Japan for 3 hours. He knows a lot of issues in Japanese. It was so exciting.

Teaching English about 5 senses

In the 3rd day of teaching, the students learned about the five senses. After that, we went to a park near school. The purpose of this activity is using how you feel in English during playing at the park. Most of students were just having fun with smile :)

Teaching English about family

The 2nd day of teaching, the students learned "family" in English. They also introduced themselves and explained their family in back home and their current host family.

I think their English is better than when I was their age.

Start teaching English for Japanese students

My American friend, who majors in English for teaching, invited me to join a English learning program for Japanese high school students as their short-study-abroad in summer.

At the first day of teaching English for those students, I was accidentally intoducted as a "teacher," not assistant.

Anyway, to be honest, it's so fun!!

There were also the welcome party at the house of the organizer of this Engilsh program. One of teacher who came with student is his son. We had a good chance to meet each host family and feel a typical American party.

Tucson Visit and Dimsom

I hadn't visited Tucosn for a long time. I drove to Tucson and met my old friend at Gee's Garden. Other than my friend, there were some student of the University of Arizona. We had a very interesting and good conversation including academic topics.

After lunch, I stopped by the University of Arizona. There were some new buildings on campus.

I went to a casino Lone Butte again after that and won the greatest amount ever!

40-page paper & 12-entry blog

Finally, I finished a 40-page paper & 12 entries of blog as assignment of my summer class. I'm exausted but felt so good because I could concentrated on my study for 12 hours. I just did it!

Kurobuta/ Rain in Ariona

I went to Leo's island BBQ for lunch. It was very Hawaiian food.

I made Kurobuta, a black pork of Japan, T-shirt because the word of "kurobuta" is popular among my frineds.

What I did else was just finalizing homework! It was rain by the way.

Secret menu?

I went to Cafe China again and ordered a wonton noodle soup, which is not officially on the menu.　It was less strong taste than I expected.

First time of making Kara-age

I cooked kara-age for my international friends. This was actually the first time for me to make it, but I think I did well.

WILD HORSE PASS and The Attack of Taitan

I went to WILD HORSE PASS and finally I won a lot!!

There was a club day and I met and talked with a new Japanese student.

After that, I went to a place of food trucks in Scottsdale.

I went to my Korean friend's home in order to know about wine because he is very familiar with wine. However, it ended up watching the Attack on Titan, a Japanese cartoon and popular in Korea as well, until ep.14th all in one gulp.

Because we kept talking all night, it became morning...

Dinner in Scottsdale

Because my Taiwanese friend who is being trained as a airplane pilot come back and stay on weekend, we went to a restaurant in Scottsdale. The restaurant is Wite Chocolate Grill.

It was a fancy restaurant, and its food was so amazing.

Especially meat was great!!

King Wah , Chinese food

I went to a Chinese restaurant, King Wah Express. I think this restaurant was one of the best in this city.

Because it was a beautiful sunset, I took pictures of the campus view.

Dance and swim

Because there is a regional event, some students started practice of a dance performance. I just joined the first practice. It was so fun. I felt it's a good exercise. Because I sweated so much, I went swimming at the pool. What I actually did in the pool was reading book by Kindle. :P

Greek food pita

I went to eat Greek food pita for lunch. The design of the restaurant was nice but taste of food was so so... It looked healthy though.

By the way, I saw many rabbits on campus these days.

Buca di Beppo with Japanese

I had an oppotunity to have lunch with Japanese students at Buca di Beppo, which is my favorite Italian restaurant.

Vee Quiva

There was a short tirp from school to Vee Quiva, which is a new casino in Phoenix. I lost again...

I ate dinner with Uzbekistan, Indian, and Thai people. Food was so spicy.

Independence day Fireworks

I watched a fireworks show at a stadium in Peoria. There are so many people including kids and their family.

Even though the fireworks are less dynamic than those of Japan, it was very impressive.

Casino Arizona

I went to Casino Arizona. I lost more than I predict... A good thing is that I found a buffet restaurant in the casino. I wish I could try.

Ell Poloroco

What I did this day was nothing but Ell Poloroco. I ate a lot of fried chickens.
